This is one of my favourite mfu longfics, because it fits so much in: missions, hurt/comfort, fabulous banter, and feelings. Feelings in Napoleon's pov, the feelings that slip out from Illya, and the feelings this story fills me with. I especially love the way Napoleon's perspective on Illya gradually shifts from friendship to romance and that Napoleon doesn't realize it right away. The story has room to breathe, and Napoleon needs all of it to get to a point where he can not just love Illya, but accept Illya's love in return.

I'm so glad I came across this story, it's absolutely beautiful! Your characterisation for everyone is just perfect. I find it can be challenging to find fic in this fandom with characterisation I agree with, so it was so refreshing to read a story where I felt it was spot on. I particularly like the way you approached how Napoleon handled life in the aftermath of being scarred. It felt so realistic and even when he was upset, never like over indulgent self pitying. As a whole, this is one of the best stories I've ever read in any fandom. I was gripped the whole way through and the ending was everything it needed to be. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into this.

Wow, I loved this story! The characterizations are absolutely spot-on, especially their senses of humor, which they never lose. What really makes it are the little details - UNCLE paperwork and Illya's system, the bets about their missions, and all the different ways Napoleon deals, or doesn't. And of course, Illya's unwavering support is just a thing of beauty.

Thanks for writing this story and posting it. Trust Napoleon to finally stop long enough to catch a clue and think something 180° from the correct idea.
Fortunately, Illya is capable of making his own handholds by any means necessary.

What a wonderful, complex, and poignant story. I'm an Illya girl, but must say I totally fell for Napoleon in this story. So very well written & characterized, you took a cliche plot and made it your own. I got misty-eyed and I just don't do that! The growth in the depth of their relationship was as natural as it was intense and beautiful. Sigh...thanks for a great read!

The guys are so much themselves in this, I could hear every word they spoke. I especially loved the wonderful scene with a drunken Napoleon being comforted by Illya. Not a false note in it! And the sex scene was incredible.
No easy outs, no pandering, no sentimentality, just NS and IK as we love them. Lovely story!
