Love this! I think it’s the best story in this ‘Child of the Morning, Child of the Night’ series. Although I don’t necessarily agree with your vision of Illya and Napoleon, I enjoy reading them. This one is especially well done as a look at Illya as a teenager, and how he resolves the issue, with a nod to the adult Illya with his myriad skills, acceptance, and humor. Thank you for a delicious read!

The story perfectly captures teenage angst and is a perfect part of you ‘Child of the Morning, Child of the Night’ series. In fact, I think it’s my favorite one! While I don’t necessarily agree with your take of Illya’s childhood, it does make a good story, and your writing style flows so nicely in its portrayal. This one is particularly pleasing in how you’ve showcased Illya’s strength of character and how George’s love and support helped guide the willful and rebellious teen into a softer, more mature solution, and subsequently, into the adult we’ve all grown to love! Many kudos :)
