Wow.
I loved the structure, of collapsing the years by very different Christmases, of Napoleon's subtle yet unrecognizing awareness, the very Napoleon autopiloted arm that got the truth out of Illya.
They get there together, via beautiful partnership. I can't help but Illya having to wait out Napoleon's consideration stilled him from false-fonting before Napoleon could figure out his next steps.

I attempted to leave feedback for this excellent story which I read some weeks ago, but was unable to. Hopefully, this works now as I do at least want to state how lovely this story was. The plot was superb. I adore stories that show how their relationship developed nicely over time.
This story was superb from start to finish and most definitely on my holiday reading list for years to come.

Oh, wow. Do you even know how good you are? I hope so! I was drawn to your stories with A Nick in Time, and am so thrilled to see you write for my favurite fandom! This was so well handled - I could see the slick-in-summer black walls, feel the cold in the dungeon...illy's emotion is plausible and very much in character. His urgent plea to N to keep breathing just bowled me over. Illya as a blond beatnik, and N's proprietary pleaseure in him at the Chrstmas party, makes me glow. Mark's cameo is just right, too. And of course, the sex with them is great and plausible - i especially like Napoleon's autopilot butt-stroking! It is realistic and allows it to not come 'out of theblue', as it were. And I want to tel you that I also liked your second Gurnius sequel with the cockteaser beauty queen - only I prefer this one. I'm a sucker for happy endings. This was tender and warm without being too sweet. I can believe it of them. And you give us a air of Real Men we can respect. 'Briliant tactician', yeah!

This story presented a nice progression of Napoleon and Illya's relationship to the inevitable. Rosemary's writing flows nicely and draws you along. She paints a very loving portrait of both NS and IK, showing them strong and vulnerable in turn. There's some hot sex but it's not lacking the necessary warmth between our guys that make these scenes so much more satisfying.
