I read this sotry a long time ago and had forgotten how much I enjoyed it. Loved the way you wove the past with the present, adding just enough hints to keep the reader invovled. And I'm a sucker for happy endings - esepcially when you're not necessarily sure there's one lurking.

Fine story with a great deal of emphasis on IK and NS's knowledge of New York City and each other. Just one small point: I think Illya's estimate of it being a mile from St. Patrick's to Carnegie Hall might be a bit much and with traffic the way it is in that area, I suspect he could have made it faster walking than taking a taxi. At least it was only another two blocks to the Essex House.
