Poor Illya - so close and yet so far away. I'm sure Napolen made it up to him in the morning though. Thanks for a fun read! I smirk my way through it - such fun.

I love the story. But I just wish the beginning had been more realistic. Anyone who knows anything about scuba diving would find it hard to believe. When Solo's tanks ran out of air, Illya would not have just let him suffocate and pass out.
Ever heard of buddy breathing? That's what scuba divers do. When their diving buddy runs out of air and the other still has air, they buddy breath. The one with air shares his tank. They take turns breathing in from the mouthpiece. While the other is breathing air, the other is expelling air into the water. (You never, under any circumstance, hold your breath while scuba diving.)
Illya would not have let Solo pass out and stop breathing while he still had air in his own tank. They would have buddy breathed using the one tank.

Oh you are evil! I read this just before getting ready for bed and now I'm all hot and frustrated. I was reading the story with my tongue hanging out and then I hit "Napoleon had fallen asleep." Talk about hitting a brick wall!
Seriously though, I liked the portrayal of Illya's inner thoughts and his frustration with waiting. Nicely done.
