Eee, fun story! Very exciting, and delicious angst with both of them, Napoleon thinking Illya is dead, and Illya worrying about Napoleon. And a happy ending to top it off *is most satisfied*

I tend to be impatient with a lot of plot and action ("get to the relationship"), but you write it so well and so true to the series that I was riveted. Wonderful dialogue. I could hear them saying all of it! Loved the gradual realization of how they felt about each other. And last but not least, you managed to make the "omg, I thought you were dead" story fresh.
If you're not a professional writer, Elijah, you should be.

This is really well done. I was fairly sure that Illya was alive, but Napoleon's reactions were done so well that I was drawn deeply into the story very quickly. I also like the section in which Napoleon admits to himself that he's been unfair to the junior agents.
