Northeastern CT is indeed beautiful; I went to college in the area. That familiarity made this story even more enjoyable. I really like your writing style!

I, too, know where Canaan is and perhaps that added an extra pleasure to reading your idyll in the northern woods. It's a beautifully written story. I could see every description. Loved the symbolism with the swimming and the apples and the dialogue seemed perfectly in character.

Okay, the fact that I know where Canaan (I just don't know how to spell it) is only helped to cement the fact that I enjoyed this more than I probably should have. As a first timer, it was sweet and fun. Thanks for a trip down Memory Lane!
